10 - 1/4 cup whipped cream, dairy or coconut
11 - 1 tablespoon mini dark chocolate chips or cocoa nibs, optional

# Directions:

01 - In a medium bowl, combine oats, milk, Greek yogurt, chia seeds, maple syrup, vanilla bean seeds or extract, and salt. Stir thoroughly until all ingredients are fully incorporated.
02 - In a small bowl or cup, mix the cooled brewed espresso or coffee with 1 tablespoon maple syrup or honey until well combined.
03 - Divide half the oat mixture evenly between two 12-ounce mason jars.
04 - Drizzle half of the sweetened coffee mixture over the oats in both jars.
05 - Layer the remaining oat mixture on top of the coffee layer, then finish with the remaining coffee mixture.
06 - Seal the jars and refrigerate for at least 8 hours to allow the oats to absorb the liquid and flavors to fully develop.
07 - Top each jar with whipped cream, chocolate chips or cocoa nibs, and vanilla granola as desired. Serve cold.

# Expert Tips:

01 -
  • It tastes like dessert for breakfast, complete with whipped cream and chocolate, but actually keeps you full until lunch.
  • Zero cooking required means you can make two jars while your coffee brews and forget about breakfast prep for days.
  • The layering trick makes it feel fancier than it is, which honestly changes how your whole morning feels.
02 -
  • The coffee absolutely has to be cooled before it touches the oats, or the heat will start cooking them unevenly and ruin the whole texture—learned this the hard way on my first attempt.
  • Eight hours is genuinely the minimum for this to work; underage jars will have crunchy oats, but the longer they sit, the better the flavor integration and the more they taste like that indulgent frappuccino you're chasing.
03 -
  • Don't stir the jar in the morning; instead, give it a gentle shake in your hands first, then spoon into a bowl so the layers stay visible and the coffee flavor stays concentrated.
  • If your whipped cream starts to separate or look sad, make it fresh right before eating by whisking heavy cream with a touch of vanilla and maple syrup—it takes two minutes and tastes infinitely better.
